During the COVID-19 lockdowns of 2020 and 2021, I found myself yearning for the sunlit shores of Greece, a place that had always been a sanctuary for my spirit. Confined within my home, memories of the Aegean's azure waters and the warmth of its summer days became a vivid escape from the pervasive uncertainty. This profound sense of nostalgia compelled me to channel my emotions, resulting in a digital painting that embodies my longing for those cherished moments by the sea.
Building upon this inspiration, I embarked on creating a series of paintings titled "My Greek Summer Memories During COVID-19." This collection, that is not yet shown, captures the essence of my cherished experiences in Greece, juxtaposed against the backdrop of a world in lockdown. Each piece serves as a visual narrative, reflecting the profound impact of the pandemic on our lives and the enduring beauty of the Aegean Sea. Through this series, I aim to convey a sense of hope and resilience, reminding viewers of the timeless allure of Greece and the shared human experience during these unprecedented times.
During that period I created many samples that only now I found time to finalise.
