The foundation of this collection is a drawing of my "weird friends" that I created many years ago. Over time, I experimented with different coloring and styles, but never found the perfect match until now.

I am a professional artist and the son of the late Andy Adamos, also known as Hadjiadamos (1936-1990). My father was a gifted artist and his legacy continues to inspire me in my own artistic pursuits.
In 2003, I had the opportunity to showcase my work in my first solo exhibition, titled "Victoria = Kifisia" at Gloria Gallery in Nicosia. The exhibition was well-received by friends, family, and fans of my father's work. I was also the first to exhibit digital artwork in Cyprus and featured a limited edition of each painting 1/7.
The exhibition was a tribute to my father's memory and a celebration of the unconditional love and support he provided me throughout my life. It was a powerful experience to have his presence in the background, while I shone in the foreground. My father's influence on my art is undeniable, and I am honored to continue his legacy through my own work.

Balancing a Conversation

As an artist, I see this piece as a significant milestone in my career. The integration of digital art has breathed new life into many of the handmade drawings that I create. While it still takes a significant amount of time to finalize a painting, I am comfortable with this process as it allows me to spend more time observing my work rather than solely interacting with it.
My inspirations are deeply influenced by my personal observations and reflections on social issues. I am driven by a constant curiosity about why things don't always work out and I use this as a starting point for my art. I do not seek to solve problems, but rather to bring attention to them and to listen to the perspectives of others.
The process of revisiting and reworking older drawings with new knowledge has also opened my eyes to the potential paths that were missed and those yet to be discovered. This NFT comes with a complimentary hand-signed and numbered high-quality print of the artwork, measuring 25.5x17.3 inches.

The artwork that you are viewing was created on January 21st, 2003. The original drawing was done using a pen on paper, and like many of my works, it was saved for later use. In early 2021, during the pandemic lockdown, I revisited this drawing and decided to scan and digitally process it.

In 2001 I had my 2nd motorbike accident, my first one happened exactly 10 years earlier in 1991. Both accidents ended up with a broken leg, the same one but in different places, a broken shoulder, and lots of scars. I was not responsible for either one.
The second one thought was meant to happen. I was a student in Athens and I was heading to college when suddenly a driver's door opened. I landed on the car in front, which the driver was a doctor, and right next to a stationed ambulance, only 2 km from the hospital.
At the hospital, I waited with a broken leg in the hall for 7 hours without any treatment. Finally, I was given a strong painkiller and I asked for a pencil and a piece of paper.

I was meant to be born in winter, in Cyprus, an eastern Mediterranean island. Things changed though, while I was in my mother's womb and I ended up being born in South Africa in the summer.
What caused my birth location to be changed? WAR.
My family was one of the thousands of inhabitants that fled during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974 when the city of Famagusta fell under Turkish control. My family ended up in a refugee camp. They finally left Cyprus and moved to South Africa for a better future.
Unfortunately, this is still the situation for many people worldwide who end up being refugees trying to find a safe place to build a new life.
