These are two Paphian Turkish/Cypriot girls ready to go to a dress-up party in the 50s.The deteriorating patterns surrounding the image expose the observer to various shapes and color tones that reveal that the element of time might still be in action in the composition.
This painting has the beauty and composition elements that make up a fine art contemporary art collectible piece. All artworks in my Metamorphosis project originated from glass plate negatives that I have discovered recently and are a choice among many other similar ones. My Metamorphosis exhibition, which took place in 2019 and 2020, has specific characteristics that unite the theme.
This is a wedding picture of a Paphian Turkish/Cypriot couple in the early 50s. Check out the gentle touches and romance the past offers to us, especially how the lady hods in between her fingers the jacket of her loved one.
Keep in mind that the Turkish/Cypriots were forced to leave in 1974 from Paphos because of the Turkish invasion that divided the island in two.
