The world abruptly transformed. COVID-19 confined us to our homes, preventing physical interaction. This trying moment pushed Sergis Adamos to work on his art and finish tasks he had put off. Among them were "The Greasy Pole" photographs, a look at a classic water activity that he featured online. Sergis also returned to his surreal artwork, which had been his focus before discovering the archive.
Sergis acknowledges the significant impact that NFTs have had in his career since he was introduced in 2021. This remarkable technology enables the sale and purchase of digital art through the Blockchain, opening up a new dimension for artists.
In 2021, Sergis was developing art for exhibitions in 2022, hoping that COVID restrictions would be lifted. Sergis planned two shows: one with his surreal art and another with his new work on glass negative plates, which would also be his first solo exhibition overseas in Athens. Images from his experiments for the Athens exhibition are included below, albeit they will not be presented after all.
During this period, Sergis Adamos expanded his Metamorphosis Art collections by creating new categories. One of these collections is 'Extracted Details,' which is expected to develop into a sophisticated Image Bank. The platform will include many sub-categories, presenting a diverse selection of extracted, compiled, and sorted details.
The Archives Beauty is a new collection too which showcases detailed high-quality images of the condition the archive was discovered in.
Another notable inclusion in Sergis Adamos' Metamorphosis Art collections is the 'Extracted Deteriorated Motifs.' This collection showcases the intriguing marks made by humidity when it enters the glass negative plates, emphasizing the interaction between nature and history. This work offers a distinctive viewpoint on how natural elements can unintentionally enhance the process of creating art, resulting in the creation of beauty through decay.
Experimenting with an oval shape and color variations, the background pictures, which resemble an ocean, are also an enlarged detail of a glass plate.

Extracted Details
Cutting out details in small, balanced compositions, an experiment that offers multiple independent images from a single glass plate.
The Archives Beauty
The first thing that struck me was the archive as discovered. Its beauty was unparalleled. The archive's state, paired with its location in a dark, abandoned basement, was hypnotic. On numerous times, I documented every detail. Here are a few of the first pictures I took. Keep in mind the depicted images hidden in each of these boxes.
Natural Deteriorated Patterns
Moreover, the ‘Natural Deteriorated Patterns’ collection extends this theme to a greater extent. The attention lies on the intricate patterns and effects that have been formed by humidity over several years on these antique plates. This collection exemplifies the unpredictable yet captivating influence of natural forces on artistic materials, providing a deep contemplation on the transitory nature and metamorphosis inherent in both art and life.
