2023 - Creating Art

For me, 2023 was a year of artistic discovery and unique inventiveness. This year, I proudly finished my "Almost Vanished Friends" collection, a three-year undertaking that resulted in 44 distinct pieces. This collection is especially significant to me because 40 of the pieces are elaborately customized portraits, each expressing its own tale and capturing a moment in time. In addition, I enlarged my "Strangers Forever" series, adding new one-of-a-kind paintings that continue to explore the bizarre and ethereal themes that have become iconic with this continuous collection. Every piece in both collections symbolizes an artistic journey as well as a testament to my evolving artistic approach and style.

The 'Strangers Forever' collection, focusing on merged glass negatives, revealed new dimensions and became my primary focus. I also launched two smaller collections. 'Join the Party' features seven works centering on a triad of figures, with each piece distinct in color variations and facial masks. 'Out of Nowhere', born from double-stuck glass negatives, interprets imagined landscapes emerging from the decay surrounding central figures. This collection, resembling aerial photos, currently includes eight pieces.

My 'Metamorphosis 1/1' collection also grew in 2023, encompassing digital artworks that defy conventional categorization. Each piece is a rebel in style and essence.

Extracted Details is a collection improvised in 2023, focusing on documenting facial characteristics, portraits, postures, touches, items, furniture, shoes, hands, and even buttons. It serves as an analytical, documented ImageBank where mostly black and white photos are stored, some of which are manipulated.

Lastly, 2023 was pivotal in understanding the process of documenting the vast archive of deteriorated glass and film negatives. My project 'Metamorphosis Art: Unfolding History Through Art' aims to document this archive academically and invites global artists and curators to create art using these glass negative plates.
